The Medium-Term Vision was adopted at the General Assembly on 17 May 2019.
Excerpt from the text:
“Our company proudly builds on its traditions, but at the same time, preserving its original basic mission, it renews itself and as a real “learning organisation” it is looking for new tools, new roles, and encourages innovation. In 1805, during the time of János Hild, the namesake of our award, innovation was that through his work, the city’s first comprehensive regulatory plan was born, which was followed by an unparalleled period of growth in the capital. Today, in cities and rural areas, we need innovations that help society and our communities to respond to the challenges of the 21st century and take advantage of its opportunities. Such challenges today are: economic competition becoming global, climate change and sustainable development, demographic transformation, globalisation affecting the cohesion and identity of communities, and the depopulation of the countryside.
The situation of professional organisations has changed significantly today. The unprecedented abundance of organisations, events and opportunities, the revolutionary simplification of access to information and news in the world of the Internet, the new mediums for building professional relationships and networks, make most of the opportunities offered by professional societies for a long time dispensable. This is reflected in the fact that the active (membership fee-paying) individual membership of MUT has significantly decreased in recent decades. As a traditional professional organisation, MUT must also find new functions and new forms to fulfil its mission.”
