Description

The UAAU is an internal support and participation body for urban architects that is part of the Higher Council of Colleges of Architects of Spain (CSCAE), providing the necessary multidisciplinary perspective to address the subject.

Among the fundamental objectives of the UAAU are:

  • To integrate and coordinate the activities of the various Professional Associations, or Autonomous Councils, of Urban Architects (hereinafter AAU), members of the Union, ensuring that they comply with the current legislation applicable to them, as well as their respective Statutes and Regulations.
  • To serve as a link between the different groups in order to maintain contacts and exchange information on their respective activities.
  • To ensure that each of the member groups serves to the fullest extent the purposes set forth in these Statutes of the Union and in its Statutes and Regulations. To ensure that each of the member groups serves to the fullest extent the purposes set forth in these Statutes of the Union and in its Statutes and Regulations.
  • To regulate, within the framework of the CSCAE and within its powers, the practice of urban planning, territorial planning, environmental management, and the specific expert function of Urban Architects.
  • Ensure the prestige of the profession in the performance of specialized advisory functions or in the expert actions of Urban Architects.
  • Propose to the CSCAE and its member associations mechanisms for better regulation of these professional activities.
  • Represent the Associations and their members before public administrations and national and international entities and organizations in matters within their jurisdiction, as delegated by the CSCAE.
  • Contribute to the training and development of expert urban planners who are members of the various associations and develop proposals to improve the teaching of this specialty in universities and academic institutions.
  • Participate in the drafting of rules, regulations, proposals, suggestions, or allegations that the CSCAE requires on matters related to urban planning and its professional practice, providing information, advising, and recommending, where appropriate, what it deems most appropriate in its judgment.

To be an institute of communication between Urban Architects and society.
